The Biomolecular Corona
Studying the formation and composition of the biomolecular corona of cancer-derived EVs.
Nanoparticles introduced into biological fluids rapidly acquire a coating of biomolecules, known as the biomolecular corona.
Our laboratory studies the formation, composition, and functional impact of this biomolecular corona on cancer-derived EVs. Understanding these interactions is critical for elucidating the physiological role of EVs and for optimizing them as therapeutic delivery systems.
We also contribute to collaborative projects on the role of EVs in Parkinson’s disease and the use of EV-mimetics as vehicles for the delivery of protein-based therapeutics.
